I’ve written a couple of posts about Lawbreakers already – check out my preview and beta impressions, if you’re interested – so it took me some time to gather my thoughts in order to say something that I hadn’t already said. I know that I really enjoy the game, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on why (beyond the game simply being fun to play). This year is a phenomenal year for video games – in my opinion, there are already four contenders for Game of the Year (although I really don’t think it’s possible to give a single GoTY award, because there’s too much gold to choose from), and the year has only just tipped the halfway mark. Keep in mind that when I say there are four contenders for GoTY, these are just from the ones I’ve played – I’ve missed quite a few releases that have also received a fair amount of fanfare.
The second half of the year is also going to be filled with some amazing titles – it will be difficult enough to find the time to play them all, let alone the money! In order to keep on top of it all, I’ve created this crazy long list – starting with games released in the first half of this year that I’ve played, followed by those I’ve missed (so far). The final Lawbreakers open beta launched in Australia at midnight on Saturday morning, to limited fanfare. As you may be aware, I’ve been waiting on this game for some time, and with the release due only next week, I was surprised at the announcement of the beta on both PC and PS4.
